{"id":54,"date":"2025-07-01T22:13:48","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T22:13:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pack462va.org\/?p=54"},"modified":"2025-07-01T22:13:48","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T22:13:48","slug":"cub-scout-quick-start-guide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pack462va.org\/index.php\/2025\/07\/01\/cub-scout-quick-start-guide\/","title":{"rendered":"Cub Scout Quick Start Guide"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2705 1. <strong>Complete a Youth Application<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fill out a <a href=\"https:\/\/filestore.scouting.org\/filestore\/pdf\/524-406.pdf\">youth application<\/a> at our Paperwork Night.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your child will be placed in the correct <strong>den<\/strong> based on their grade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcb5 2. <strong>Pay Pack Dues<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Annual dues cover national registration, insurance, awards, and pack activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dues Amount:<\/strong> TBD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment plans are available \u2014 just ask!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udc55 3. <strong>Get a Uniform<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each Scout needs a:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cub Scout shirt<\/strong> (blue t-shirt for Lions, blue uniform shirt for Tigers\u2013Bears, tan uniform shirt for Webelos and Arrow of Lights)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Neckerchief (based on den level)<\/strong> <strong>and BSA slide<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Council patch and unit numbers<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pack Hat<\/strong> (purchased from the pack)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can buy uniforms at your local Scout Shop or online at <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scoutshop.org\">www.scoutshop.org<\/a>.  Also check Buy Nothing on Facebook, ebay, thrift stores, and friends.
